The Challenge
will be a 6 hour timed event that include both individuals and relays.
The goal is to get in as many laps as you can in under 6 hours. Riders
will be notified at 3:15pm that their race is likely over, if they want
to go for another one, have at it. Riders coming in after 4:00
will be giving a finish time of their previous completed lap.
The
course
will be 1 complete lap of Lock 4’s mtb trails. The lap has 450 ft of
climbing, and is dominantly rolling flowing single track. The start
line will be in the field by the lake out on the pennisula, and the finish line will be in
front of the Peninsula Pavilion. The Relay chicane will be after the
finish line. Your pit area will be will be in the field area on
the peninsula.
The Start. At 9:30am, the
bicycle staging area will be open to place your bikes in horizontal rows
alonside the lake. At 9:45 their will be a quick pre-race meeting and
begin lining up for the Lemans Style start which will be a 100 yard dash
to your bicycle. Once on the bike, you'll do a parade lap around
the peninsula, circling back around to the start line, then you'll head
off to the woods to begin lap 1.
Relay guidelines: For
simplicity purposes, you may relay at your pit area. Your team
should all have the same number.
Primitive
Camping
will be allowed in designated areas on the peninsula, For the safety of
the riders, Cars will be allowed to travel to the peninsula only before
9:30 am to drop off pit area supplies. Please park only in the Airplane field during the event. The
road will re-open after 5:30 pm. for overnight parking or pick up.
Motor homes allowed on peninsula, in approved parking spaces only.

Music and Food served from 4 to 5 pm. Awards at 5:30.
